Infertility Community Must Come Together in Washington, D.C. for One Important Day

RESOLVE’s Advocacy Day will be Wednesday, May 8th on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Women and men from all over the country will travel to Washington, D.C., and join RESOLVE’s Board of Directors, volunteer leaders and staff to meet with Members of Congress in order to ask for their support of several issues that will help people with infertility.

Here’s what you need to know about RESOLVE’s Advocacy Day:

• All RESOLVE Advocates will receive training prior to Advocacy Day as well as the day of your appointments.
• You will be joined by others from your state or by an experienced RESOLVE volunteer on all of your appointments.
• You will get to meet some of RESOLVE’s key volunteers, staff and Board Members – all of whom are excited to make connections with our passionate Advocates.
• Your being at Advocacy Day will make a difference.
• Anyone who cares about people with infertility are encouraged to attend—ask your mom, sister, dad, or spouse to join you.

RESOLVE acknowledges that travelling to Washington, D.C. is an expense for our Advocates. Here are some ways to manage your expenses:

• Reach out to your support group or online community members and find a travel buddy to share expenses.
• Check out our Pinterest.com board about what to do with your time in D.C.—make it a mini-vacation that you’ve been putting off!
• Ask your friends and family for gifts, miles, or hotel points to help manage your travel expenses.

Advocacy Day is an important event that helps the disease of infertility get more attention from our lawmakers. You are key to the success of Advocacy Day.
